Army Cadet College

The Army Cadets College (ACC) is an esteemed institution dedicated to training soldiers to become officers in the Indian Army. This entry is specifically designed for individuals who are already serving in the Indian Armed Forces, including the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force, as Soldiers, Sailors, or Airmen.

Eligibility and Application

Personnel from any of the Indian Armed Forces branches who meet the required criteria can apply for the ACC Entry to transition into an officer's role. However, it is important to note that ACC Entry only allows for commissioning into the Indian Army.

Required Criteria

To be eligible for ACC Entry, candidates must meet specific criteria. These criteria ensure that only the most suitable candidates are selected for officer training. Eligibility Criteria

​

To apply for the Army Cadets College (ACC) Entry, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Must have passed 10+2 in any stream from a Government Recognized Board.

  • Service Requirement: Must have at least 2 years of service in any of the Armed Forces at any post.

  • Marital Status: Both married and unmarried candidates are eligible to apply.

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be between 20 and 27 years old. No age relaxation will be provided based on community or caste.

 

Selection Process

The selection process for ACC Entry consists of three stages:

  1. Written Examination

  2. SSB Interview

  3. Medical Examination (as per officer standards)

 

ACC Written Exam Syllabus

​

The written exam includes the following subjects:

  • General Mental Ability Test

  • Current & General Ability Test

  • Interactive Communicative English

  • Academic Content Test

Each paper carries 300 marks, with a total of 150 questions, and each question is worth 2 marks. Candidates are given 2 hours to complete each paper.

ACC Training Process and Duration

​

Upon clearing the selection phase, candidates are inducted as officer cadets. The training process is as follows:

  • Army Cadet College: 3 years of training, divided into 6 semesters of 6 months each.

  • Indian Military Academy: 1 year of further training.

The total training duration is 4 years. After successful completion, cadets are commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army.

During the training period, cadets receive a stipend, and all training expenses are covered by the ACC.
